Dr. Megan Evans
Dr. Megan Evans is a recent 2023 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she also completed her master’s degree in Public Health in 2022. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal and Poultry Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2018. Originally, she is from Virginia, but she has since fallen in love with the beautiful state of Tennessee and has decided to call it her new home. She has special interests in internal medicine, ophthalmology, infectious disease, and public health and cannot wait to begin her career here.
When she’s not working, Dr. Evans enjoys spending her time hiking, kayaking, antiquing, and hanging out with her family and friends. She has one energetic dog, Stark, that keeps her on her toes and a very spoiled cat, Chill Bill.
Dr. Hamilton
Dr. Hamilton grew up on a farm in North Alabama that was home to many four-legged animals such as dogs, cats, horses, and cows, and the environment provided the inspiration to pursue veterinary medicine. She attended the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), where she earned a bachelor of agriculture degree in animal science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After living and practicing veterinary medicine in Athens, Georgia, for fifteen years, Dr. Hamilton, her husband, and her children moved to Louisiana for two years before settling in Knoxville in 2015.
Having experienced the feeling of helplessness when an emergency situation arose with one of her four-legged friends on the farm, Dr. Hamilton understands how it feels when your pet is sick or hurt. This is why Dr. Hamilton is honored to be able to provide medical care, especially in times of emergency. As a relief veterinarian, she is also grateful for the opportunity to provide services for her fellow veterinarian colleagues as well.
When she is not traveling with a stethoscope around her neck, Dr. Hamilton enjoys playing with her chickens in her garden, curling up with her dog and cat, and supporting her children and husband in their varied activities, such as sports, music, hiking, and woodworking.
Dr. Kristin
Dr. Kristin Harrison graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. This was the culmination of a lifelong dream that started when she was about 4 years old. Over the years, a simple love of animals grew into a genuine desire to provide quality and compassionate care for them and their human counterparts through veterinary medicine. Born and raised in central Florida, Dr. Harrison obtained her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Florida. She then attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Harrison practiced in Florida and then Colorado before making her way back to East Tennessee.
In her free time, Dr. Harrison enjoys hiking, reading, swimming, biking, and spending time with family and friends. She has two cats, Luna and Daniel, who have her well-trained in providing for their every whim.
Dr. Yu
Dr. Rachel Yu is a 2017 graduate of St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She completed her final year of clinical training at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, TX. She is a Maryville native and couldn’t wait to return home. She enjoys spending time with her Great Dane, Moose, a shepherd mix, Aries, cat, Larrabee, and two goats, Opal and Loretta. When the weather is nice, Dr. Rachel enjoys fishing, swimming, gardening, and just being outdoors.
Dr. Archer
Dr. Becca Archer is a 2005 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of Tennessee. She is native to the Knoxville area and has practiced in both Knox and Blount counties since graduating from veterinary school.
Dr. Archer has 2 dogs—Gizzi, a Boston Terrier, and Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles. She also has two cats, Mr. B and Henry, and 2 horses, Junie B and Marcy. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, and all of her four-legged babies on their farm.
Dr. Steeley
Dr. Mark Steeley, DVM, graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. He had attended the University of Tennessee previous to that and graduated with an Associate Arts Degree from Coconino Community College in Flagstaff, Arizona. Dr. Steeley has been at Chilhowee Veterinary Clinic since 2007 and took over ownership in 2012. He has a special interest in medicine, soft tissue surgery, and dentistry. Previous to college, Dr. Steeley was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 6 years as an aircraft mechanic. He has always loved animals, and veterinary medicine was a natural choice and progression in his life.
Dr. Steeley enjoys backpacking, running, Crossfit, mowing, working on his farm, and anything outside. He recently adopted 2 retired performance horses, Doxx and Abe, to live out the rest of their days on his farm. Dr. Steeley is married with three adult children and three awesome granddaughters.
